A credit is the atomic unit of scanning usage. Most scanner modules cost 10 credits per run, and heavier modules like OpenVAS network scans cost five times that. You see the exact credit total before launching any scan, so there are no surprises.

Plan credits — the monthly allowance included with your subscription — reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over. Purchased credit packs are completely separate: they never expire and remain on your balance until used.

Yes. You can change plan at any time from the billing dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated charges. Downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period so you keep what you already paid for.

Resource limits (targets, monitors, projects, etc.) are enforced at creation time — the app shows an in-line upgrade prompt when you hit a ceiling rather than silently breaking. Credit-based actions simply refuse to start a scan if you don't have the balance, so you never get billed for an unfinished run.

Subscription and credit-pack billing is handled by Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and most digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link). Enterprise customers can arrange ACH or invoice-based billing.

Yes. Stripe processes and stores all card data — Metric Tower never sees or stores raw card numbers. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of payments security. Your card details travel directly from your browser to Stripe, never through our servers.

Yes. Cancel from Settings → Billing in two clicks with no phone calls or support tickets. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period so you keep access through the time you already paid for, then drop to Free.

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on every subscription plan: if you're not satisfied, email support within 14 days of the initial purchase and we'll issue a full refund, no questions asked. Credit pack purchases are non-refundable once credits have been spent.
